Charlotte Knights (AAA)
Recently the Knights announced that Joe McEwing, formerly the manager of theWinston-Salem Dash for the last two years, will manage the Knights. This is McEwing's second stint as a coach with Charlotte as his coaching career began with the Knights as the hitting coach in 2008 after playing in the Major League from 1998-2006 with the Cardinals, Mets, Royals, and Astros. Joining McEwing as the hitting coach will be Tim Laker. Laker served as the manager of the Tennessee Diamond Jax, an AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, in 2010. Richard Dotson will return to the Knights for his 4th season as the pitching coach. Finishing out the Knights Coaching staff are trainer, Joe Geck and conditioning coach Chad Efron.
Birmingham Barons (AA)
Bobby Mangallanes will be the new manager for the Barons in 2010 after managing the Angels' AA franchise the Arkansas Travelers. He led the Travelers to the 2008 Texas League Championship. Bobby's brother Ever Mangallanes managed the Barons in 2009 and 2010 before being named the White Sox' infield instructor. Both 2010 hitting coach, Andy Tomberlin and pitching coach J.R. Perdew will return to join Bobby Mangallanes as the 2011 Baron's staff. Completing the staff will be trainer Josh Fallin, who joins the Barons from the Dash and conditioning coach Raymond Smith who will start his third season with the Barons.
Winston-Salem Dash (A-Adv)
The Dash introduced Julio Vinas as the new manager for 2010, as Joe McEwing was promoted to the manager of the Charlotte Knights. Vinas spent several years as a player in the White Sox system, and another five years as the hitting coordinator in the Baltimore Orioles system. Joining Vinas is new hitting coach Gary Ward. Ward spent 2010 as the hitting coach for the Charlotte Knights. Pitching coach Bobby Thigpen will return to the Dash for his third season in 2011. Replacing long-time trainer Josh Fallin, who was moved to Birmingham, will be Cory Barton. Meanwhile conditioning coach Adam Tischler will remain with the Dash for another season.
Kannapolis Intimdators (A)
Tommy Thompson returns to a managerial position with the White Sox after a twenty year absence after manging the South Bend White Sox in the Midwest League. Thompson takes over for the Intidmators after Ernie Young moved to the Detroit Tigers' system to manage the West Michigan Whitecaps. Joining Thompson will be 2010 Winston-Salem Dash hitting coach Rob Sasser. Also, as a part of the Intimidators' staff reconstruction, Jose Bautista will become the pitching coach after coaching with Chris Cron in Great Falls last year. Completing the staff are: trainer Scott Johnson and conditioning coach Jeremie Imbus.
Bristol White Sox (Rookie)
Pete Rose Jr. will take over the reigns of the Bristol White Sox in 2011. Rose is the son of the all-time Major League hit leader Pete Rose. Joining him will be the the 2010 hitting and pitching coaches from the Kannapolis Intimidators, Greg Briley and Larry Owens. Also joining Bristol from Kannapolis is trainer Kevin Phillifant. Conditioning coach, Ibrahim Rivera is the only returning member of the 2010 Bristol White Sox staff.
Great Fall Voyagers (Rookie)
Ryan Newman, who managed the Bristol White Sox in 2010 will be moving to take over the Voyagers after Chris Cron moved to the Tigers' AA franchise the Erie Seawolves . Pitching coach Brian Drahman will return to the Voyagers in 2011. Joining Newman and Drahman will be hitting coach Charles Poe. Joining them will be trainer James Kurk and conditioning coach Tim Rodmaker
